In addition to picture framing and painting in watercolour, Chris has produced a varied output, from cartooning and illustrating, house commissions and architectural views from plans supplied, to letter carving and sign-making. In 1996 he was commissioned to design and carve a Town sign for Northleach, which was well received and led to the commissioning of a new sign for the village of Yanworth.
Born in London 1957, the son of a naval engineer; after early travels abroad, Chris was educated at Slough Grammar School. Always drawing and painting through childhood, Chris also had musical interests, and from 1974-77 studied Musical Instrument Technology at the London College of Furniture. The following ten years were spent working tuning and restoring pianos, but the drawing and painting would not go away.
In 1987 Chris moved to Northleach in the Cotswolds, where he and his wife Gill established a Gallery to form a basis for their creative pursuits. Now in its 21st year the Gallery is a popular destination for tourists and locals looking for quality work, cotswold watercolour paintings, unusual handmade gifts and friendly service!
